BTD Manufacturing, Inc. seeks a Welding Manufacturing Engineer to support the Site Director of Operations and CI Leader in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and continuous improvement. You will lead lean initiatives and implement manufacturing plans for new products in a metalworking setting.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in business, scientific or technical field.
• Lean manufacturing concepts and ISO/TS16949 understanding.
• Two years of related manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License.
• Ability to work across functional boundaries in a matrix organization.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication: written, oral, drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret production blueprints and specs.
• Convert processing plans into actionable steps; implement improvements.
• Adhere to safety policies and drive continuous safety improvements.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Supports site CI Leader in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and continuous improvement.
• Participates in design reviews for manufacturability of new products.
• Executes First Run Capability assessments and creates Standard Work Instructions.
• Leads root-cause analysis and corrective actions for unsafe conditions or nonconformities.
• Facilitates lean/kaizen events at least quarterly.
• Champions 5S and TPM; mentors leaders and operators.
• Recommends tooling/process changes to reduce variation and cost.
• Tracks metrics and reports lean activity results.
• Creates PFMEAs and control plans for PPAP submissions.
