Job summary

Baxter International Inc. in Batesville, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Weld to support welding and fabrication processes, improve efficiency, and ensure quality and regulatory compliance.

You will lead cross-functional teams, develop weld procedures, and apply continuous improvement methods to deliver reliable, cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This role requires hands-on expertise and strong collaboration with engineering and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding or Industrial Engineering required.
• Over 2 years of job-related experience in manufacturing and weld engineering.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing subject areas.
• Ability to work with high accuracy in production welding tasks.
• Knowledge of weld tooling, processes, blueprints, and drawings.
• Strong mechanical and metallurgical welding background; preferred (GMAW, GMAW-P, RSW, GTAW).
• Experience with welding robots and related validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve products or reduce costs via fabrication processes.
• Troubleshoot product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
• Confer with engineers to implement procedures and resolve malfunctions.
• Determine root causes using statistical methods and adjust designs or tolerances.
• Plan sequences to fabricate, weld, paint, and finish parts for efficiency.
• Read blueprints and interpret technical drawings and reports.
• Update documentation for job instructions and SOPs.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance on the shop floor.
• Supervise technicians and provide welding process support for new products.
