Job summary

BTD Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing/Lean Specialist to support the Site Continuous Improvement Leader in achieving safety, quality, and productivity goals.

You will participate in design reviews, run capability assessments, and develop standard work to improve the manufacturing plan provided by the process engineer. You will lead or join lean events, champion 5S, mentor leaders and operators, and implement cost-reducing ideas through tooling and process improvements.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent in business, scientific or technical field preferred
• Associate degree with 3 years ME technician experience or 4 years ME technician experience
• Lean manufacturing concepts and principles knowledge
• Ability to read and interpret production prints and specs
• Strong problem solving and team collaboration

Responsibilities

• Supports Site CI Leader in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and CI objectives
• Participates in design reviews for manufacturability; reviews prints and specs
• Executes First Run Capability assessments and creates Standard Work Instructions
• Leads or participates in root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Facilitates lean/kaizen events and mentors operators
• Champions 5S and improvements to tooling, processes, and equipment
• Tracks and reports lean metrics and improvement results
• Performs other duties as assigned
