Job summary

Magna International in Birmingham, AL seeks a Welding Technician - Assembly Maintenance to provide hands-on welding and maintenance support, ensuring safe, reliable welding operations and minimized downtime.

Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining resistance and MIG welding equipment, performing preventive maintenance, documenting changes, and supporting new model launches. A High School diploma and 4+ years in related roles are preferred.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
Minimum 4 years of welding experience in manufacturing preferred.
Experience with resistance welding and MIG welding setups.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting aptitude.

Responsibilities

Support safety, quality, and productivity by following plant safety rules and standards.
Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot resistance and MIG welding equipment, including tooling and weld schedules.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on welding equipment to minimize downtime.
Program and adjust welding and stepper programs; document changes per Kamtek standards.
Enter accurate maintenance records and PM activities into the Maintenance CMS.
