Job summary

Magna International Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks a Maintenance Weld Technician to support assembly welding operations. You will set up and maintain resistance and MIG welding processes, troubleshoot issues, and document maintenance activities to ensure high uptime.

Ideal candidates have at least four years of manufacturing maintenance and welding experience, readable schematics, and strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills; may involve basic robotics assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum 4 years of welding experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with resistance welding and MIG welding setups; ability to read schematics.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot resistance and MIG welding equipment, including weld tips, tooling, fixtures, and weld schedules.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Program and adjust welding and stepper programs; document changes per Kamtek standards.
• Enter accurate maintenance records and PM activities into the Maintenance CMS.
• Order replacement parts as needed and manage tool crib returns and repair documentation.
