Job summary

The welding department at USU Blanding seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support the welding education certificate and degree programs on the Blanding campus. The role involves fabricating projects for shop improvements, maintaining and repairing program equipment, and keeping the lab clean and organized.

The position will also support recruiting events for the welding program and provide dependable, punctual assistance while enrolled welding students progress through coursework.

Qualifications

• Welding major currently enrolled in at least two welding courses at USU Eastern.
• One semester of courses completed in the welding program.
• Computer literacy
• Organization
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Dependable and punctual

Responsibilities

• Primary responsibilities will include fabrication of projects for shop improvements, basic maintenance and repair of program equipment, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lab facility.
• Duties will also include participating in recruiting events hosted and participated in by the welding program.
