Job summary

Trident Technical College seeks a Welding Laboratory Specialist III to support the Welding Program within the Division of Manufacturing and Maintenance. This role ensures safe, efficient operation of welding labs and provides instructional support as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining facilities and equipment, stocking supplies, teaching assigned welding courses, and serving as lead technician for repair of welding systems while coordinating with facilities and safety personnel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and advanced skill level in precision machine shop operations.
• Preferred: Associate degree in Welding Technology with 4+ years related experience; or 10 years welding instruction and hands-on practice.
• Evidence of strong teaching ability and laboratory maintenance skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain welding lab facilities, equipment, tools, and instructional resources, including purchasing and repair.
• Order, receive, inventory, and stock welding consumables for program operations.
• Teach assigned welding courses; manage attendance, records, and grades; day/evening/weekend/off-site classes possible.
• Lead technician for troubleshooting and repair of welding equipment and coordinate with vendors.
• Coordinate maintenance with Facilities and assist in timely project completion; support safety standards.
