  • Knowledge of the UVU Transportation Technologies policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices.
  • Knowledge of transportation specific areas.
  • Ability to work under general direction and supervise students in laboratories and other areas as appropriate.
  • Ability to manage a group of students, keep them on task, and critique performance levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a wide variety of settings.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to explain detailed procedures to students.
  • Welding and cutting skills.

  • Students would be assigned to one of the following programs: Automotive, Collision Repair, or Diesel Mechanics.
  • Assistants will prepare instructional materials (mock-ups, visual aids, and instruction sheets) as necessary; instruct, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in lab spaces.
  • Must be a current UVU student.
