Job summary

Altec in Duluth, MN is seeking a Welder to support welding and assembly of aerial device manufacturing. You will prep, fit, and weld components, read blueprints, and maintain quality standards in a fast-paced production cell.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ongoing Welding Tech or Machining coursework, and proficiency with tape measures and schematics. Safety and teamwork are essential to deliver high-quality equipment on time.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding tech or machining coursework in progress.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Prep and grease aerial booms for assembly.
• Tap holes in metal.
• Help deliver parts to weld cells.
• Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards.
• Perform GMAW and/or FCAW welding with various arc and gas welding equipment.
• Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces.
• Operate and understand all equipment within the work area.
• Lay out and mark dimensions on material using shop math and layouts.
• Inspect assemblies for conformance to specifications.
• Read schematics and work orders.
