Job summary

Altec in Duluth, MN is seeking a skilled Installer to join our production team. You will install unit vehicle components and accessories, read schematics and work orders to understand customer requirements, and test installed components.

You\'ll use basic hand tools, read tape measures and blueprints, operate equipment in the cell, and participate in APS initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards. Cross-training across areas may be required, and training new teammates is welcomed.

Qualifications

• be able to provide a high school diploma/GED.
• have the ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• have basic computer usage knowledge.
• currently obtain ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install unit vehicle components and accessories.
• Read and interpret schematics (blueprints) and work orders to understand customer requirements.
• Test installed components.
• Use basic hand tools such as tape measure and specialty equipment.
• Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
• Perform rework as required.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives.
• Move to other work areas in order to support production needs.
• Effectively assist and train new/current associates.
• Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices to include proper use and care of PPE.
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Adhere to Altec's attendance policy.
