Job summary

Altec Industries, Inc. in Duluth, MN is seeking a Welder to support the welding and assembly of aerial devices. You will prep booms, tap holes, read blueprints, and work with various arc and gas welding equipment.

This role requires the ability to read tape measures and schematics, maintain safety policies, train others, and participate in continuous improvement under the Altec Production System. A high school diploma and either Welding Tech or Machining training are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding tech or machining degree in progress preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Prep and grease aerial booms for assembly.
• Tap holes in metal.
• Help deliver parts to weld cells.
• Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards.
• Perform GMAW and/or FCAW welding with various equipment.
• Finish surfaces with hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret schematics and work orders.
