Job summary

Altec is seeking welders for 2nd and 3rd shifts to build and repair critical infrastructure equipment. You will weld, read blueprints, and assemble components for utility and telecom applications, contributing to a legacy of American-made products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Welding knowledge from experience or vocational school.
• Experience with wire feed welding (MIG/TIG), cutting, and metal fabrication.
• Ability to pass a preliminary weld test and AWS D1.1 certification within 60 days of hire.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Willingness to work off-shift (3rd shift).

Responsibilities

• Fuse metal with MIG/TIG welding to craft components for utility/telecom work.
• Read blueprints and schematics to assemble complex parts.
• Cut steel with torch or plasma and shape parts for production.
• Assemble truck and body components onto chassis with tools and technique.
• Perform rework and ensure all welds meet high standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow safety protocols.
• Flex across shifts and assist team as needed.
