Job summary

Southern Virginia Higher Education Center seeks a Welding Instructor to plan, develop, and teach welding courses with hands-on training that prepare students for the job market.

The instructor will manage inventory, maintain equipment, and collaborate with employer partners to address workforce needs. Reporting to the Welding Program Leader, the role requires strong communication and tech-enabled teaching abilities.

Qualifications

• Extensive welding experience and ability to perform SMAW, GTAW, GMAW or FCAW.
• Ability to develop curricula aligned with VDOE, VCCS and industry needs.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and maintain records.
• Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; able to engage diverse learners.
• Experience working with educational and corporate partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and teach welding courses with hands-on training to prepare students for employment.
