Job summary

W International, a Goose Creek, SC metal fabricator, seeks an experienced welding instructor to train personnel in welding techniques and safety. The role supports the training department with classroom and hands-on instruction, evaluates student progress, and maintains records.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs and present strong communication skills. Join a certified facility serving defense, aerospace and commercial markets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a weld instructor.
• Knowledge of welding processes and ability to train students.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read welding codes and drawings and teach using them.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer tasks.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and instruct proper welding equipment operation for students.
• Train students in mig, tig, and other welding techniques on aluminum and stainless steel.
• Read and explain welding codes, specs, drawings, and terminology to learners.
• Provide weekly progress reports to the Training & Development Manager.
• Lead group and one-on-one trainings to inspect welds and assess quality.
• Maintain training records and develop weekly schedules for training.
• Evaluate student performance and ensure qualification under applicable procedures.
• Meet with Plant Superintendent to discuss training needs and improvements.
• Maintain clean, safe classrooms and weld booths and enforce policies.
