Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial in Calera, Alabama is seeking an experienced Welder Fitter to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The Welder Fitter will analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.

We offer an hourly rate of $22.00–$25.00, 9 paid holidays and PTO, a 401k plan, company health insurance, education assistance, wellness programs, and a weekly pay schedule. Overtime and long hours may be required based on demand.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a welder or welder/fitter.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components from blueprints.
• Tack-weld or weld components using various welding equipment.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces to ensure quality and conformance to specs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and follow safety procedures.
