Job summary

McWane Plant & Industrial in Calera, AL is seeking an experienced Welder Fitter to join our Job Shop Fabrication and Machining operation. The Welder Fitter will analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.

Responsibilities include laying out, fitting, and fabricating metal components, tack-welding or welding with various methods, and inspecting welded surfaces for quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience as a welder or welder/fitter.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and testing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.
• Lay out, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structures using welding techniques.
• Tack-weld or weld components using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
• Observe tests on welded surfaces to verify quality and conformance.
