Welder / Fitter – 1st Shift Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience Job Description We are seeking experienced Welder / Fitters to join a growing manufacturer that designs and builds construction equipment. This position can be tailored somewhat to the candidate’s strengths and experience. Some employees primarily perform welding, some focus more heavily on fitting and fabrication, and others handle a combination of both. Candidates with varying levels of welding and fitting experience will be considered. Responsibilities

• Fit, fabricate, and weld components used in the manufacturing of construction equipment
• Perform MIG welding on steel components and assemblies
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work instructions
• Fit and position parts prior to welding
• Measure, align, tack, and prepare components for final welding
• Verify dimensions and proper fit before completing welds
• Use grinders, hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and fabrication equipment
• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and accuracy
• Work from drawings and specifications to build components to required tolerances
• Perform grinding, finishing, and clean-up work as necessary
• Communicate with production, engineering, and other departments regarding fabrication requirements
• Follow company safety and quality procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications

• Previous welding, fitting, fabrication, or related manufacturing experience
• MIG welding experience is strongly preferred
• Experience with TIG, stick, flux-core, or other welding processes is a plus
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Experience fitting and laying out metal components is highly desirable
• Comfortable using measuring tools, grinders, hand tools, and power tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a manufacturing team
• Ability to perform physically demanding fabrication and welding work

Pay will vary based on welding ability, fitting experience, blueprint-reading skills, and overall fabrication experience.
