The position involves cutting steel, welding (arc, MIG, TIG), reading blueprints, and fabricating metal parts. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of welding experience; familiarity with CNC cutting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of full-time paid welding experience required.
• Layout and blueprint reading experience required.
• Fabricating experience required.
• Experience in burning, Arc welding, MIG and TIG welding required.
• Experience with CNC cutting machine preferred.
• Automotive environment background is a plus.
• Must be able to push and lift to approximately 80 pounds.
• Must provide their own hand tools necessary for performing job duties.

Responsibilities

• Cuts steel plates and pipe, operates welder and related equipment.
• Heats, straightens and fabricates auto and truck frames, bodies and associated parts.
• Performs arc, MIG, TIG, Arc and oxyacetylene welding.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and technical drawings to determine how to fabricate metal and aluminum parts.
• Selects appropriate materials and tools for specific fabrication tasks.
• Operate metal fabrication equipment including cutting machines, welding machines and other tools.
• Operates band saws, drills, hydraulic presses, shear machines as well as bending and rolling machines, threads pipe and services welding equipment.
