Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Body Welding Execution Engineer to lead weld verification and qualification, develop welding parameters, and review manufacturing requirements for body shop projects across North America. You will work with engineers, suppliers, and plant teams to enable successful launches and sustained production.

The role requires hands-on development of welding processes, familiarity with resistance welding, and strong problem-solving skills to improve productivity and quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in manufacturing or welding engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Strong understanding of automotive body shop equipment and welding processes (resistance & GMAW).
• Ability to read CAD drawings and documentation and support validation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead weld verification, qualification, and program testing across launches and production.
• Develop welding parameters and processes; review Manufacturing Requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Support integration, startup, debug, and troubleshooting of plant welding equipment and weld-quality issues.
• Advance welding and joining technologies through projects and material/process validation.
• Document weld evaluations and collaborate across functions to improve productivity, cost, and quality.
