Job summary

Hadrian in Los Angeles is seeking a Welding Engineer, Manager to lead the weld development team for aerospace, defense, and maritime hardware. You will own equipment and processes, guiding their transition from development to production and defining welding standards.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with production, tooling, automation, quality, and programs, and ensure compliance with NAVSEA, AWS D17.1, ASME IX, and MIL-STD welding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 6+ years in welding engineering or weld process development, including 1+ years leading engineers or senior technical lead.
• Experience developing and qualifying welds for Navy or aerospace hardware.
• Production manufacturing experience and understanding of production needs from engineering.
• Familiarity with NAVSEA, AWS D17.1, ASME Section IX, or MIL-STD welding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of welding engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Oversee development and qualification of weld processes and transition into production.
• Own welding equipment and process selection from requirements to installation.
• Partner with production, tooling, automation, quality, and programs to align welding priorities with production goals.
• Set welding standards and documentation practices and act as welding POC for internal teams and customers.
