Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to design, implement, maintain and improve welding applications within our manufacturing environment. You will ensure high-quality welding that meets safety and technical standards while collaborating with design and engineering teams to improve manufacturability.

You will also provide technical support, develop welding procedures, and train staff on advanced welding techniques, including robotics and laser welding, in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years in a similar manufacturing role.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, procedures, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software and reading blueprints.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing and robotic/laser welding.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical welding support to production staff and troubleshoot issues.
• Design and implement welding processes to improve efficiency and profitability.
• R&D to enhance welding techniques and applications.
• Perform welding procedure and welder qualifications per codes and standards.
• Develop welding standards and guide production personnel.
• Collaborate with design/engineering to ensure manufacturability and process improvements.
• Train staff on advanced welding techniques and technologies.
• Work with quality teams to meet standards and specifications.
• Use CAD to design welding fixtures and tooling.
• Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Operate and program robotic and laser welding machines.
