Job summary

Management Performance Associates is seeking a Welding Engineer for a manufacturing client specializing in temperature sensors, fittings and harness assemblies. You will own welding processes, develop repeatable joining methods, and partner with design, manufacturing and quality teams to improve weld integrity and product performance.

In this role you will create procedures, validate welding parameters, support qualification activities, and train production staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate clear corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures and fixtures.
• Evaluate materials and joint designs to ensure reliable production.
• Support qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and lead root cause analysis with QA.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support process validation.
• Train production staff on approved methods and work instructions.
• Evaluate equipment and processes to reduce scrap and cycle time.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with industry standards.
