Job summary

Confident Search Consultants is recruiting a Welding Engineer for a client manufacturing precision components. You will own welding processes, develop repeatable joining methods, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and productivity.

The role requires hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of welding metallurgy, and the ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain the associated technical records against applicable customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and the transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
