Job summary

Meritas Advisory Group, LLC on behalf of a precision manufacturer seeks a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for high‑quality components. You will develop repeatable joining methods, support process validation, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, welding drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, parameters, joint prep, tooling, and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain the associated technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and the transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.
