Workforce Recruiter in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for precision components. You will develop repeatable joining methods to improve weld integrity, productivity, and performance.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to optimize procedures, support qualifications, and lead trials in a manufacturing environment. Strong documentation and problem‑solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability for reliable processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and lead root cause analysis with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility and manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, and process validation.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and process controls.
• Evaluate equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with customer/industry requirements.
