Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Welding Engineer in Buffalo, NY to own welding processes for precision components. You will develop repeatable joining methods, resolve production challenges, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and productivity.

The role involves planning welding trials, supporting qualifications, and training staff on approved methods. Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, drawings, and process documentation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, work with production teams, and communicate corrective actions.
• Experience with precision assemblies, stainless steels or nickel alloys, automated welding, and relevant welding qualifications or certifications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures and fixtures.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, and weldability.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and implement corrective actions with teams.
• Plan welding trials and transfer new products to production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and process controls.
• Improve weld uptime by reducing scrap and cycle time.
