Job summary

KingRecruitingServices is seeking a Welding Engineer in Buffalo, NY to own welding processes for precision components. You will develop repeatable joining methods, optimize weld procedures, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity and product performance.

You will evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, and weldability, lead root-cause analyses, plan welding trials, and train production personnel on approved methods and process controls,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions with production teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility and manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and production transfers.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while ensuring safety.
