Job summary

COMPA Industries, Inc. in West Mifflin, PA is recruiting a Specialist Engineer III to join the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory team. You will assess repair technologies for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program using welding, machining and other processes in both lab and subcontract settings.

You will interface with stakeholders across the lab, shipyards, and Naval Reactors HQ. This hands-on role suits engineers who want to move technology from development to deployment in naval facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• MS in Welding Eng., Materials Sci. & Eng., Mechanical Eng., or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, test, and evaluate repair technologies.
• Plan, follow, and report project performance in the lab.
• Conceive and produce technical instructions and procedures.
• Track procurement actions and budget performance.
• Write technical submittals and recommendations.
• Lead and execute laboratory operations efficiently and compliantly.
• Travel to vendors and shipyards for project support.
