Job summary

Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. in Monroeville, PA seeks a Welding Engineer to perform welding engineering evaluations and analyses, support design, fabrication, installation, and refurbishment of propulsion equipment for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

You will work under significant oversight, prepare welding and process instructions, review supplier procedures, and participate on multi-disciplinary teams. Domestic travel is 20–25% with infrequent international travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.
• Experience applying welding in design and fabrication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements, track progress against schedule and performance goals.
• Prepare welding and process instructions, standards, manuals, and specifications.
• Perform failure analysis on metal components to identify root causes and propose improvements.
• Assist with welding engineer oversight of supplier processing and fabrication procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project integration and quality.
