Markon, Inc. seeks a Specialized Engineer III to support the Naval Nuclear Laboratory’s Welding Engineering at the Bettis site. You will work with a team to assess and develop repair technologies through lab activities and subcontract work, serving NN LNL, shipyards, and Naval Reactors Headquarters.

This onsite role in West Mifflin, PA may be remote up to 10% and requires an active DOE L clearance. Occasional travel to vendors and shipyards is expected.

Qualifications

• Active DOE L clearance required (DoD Secret and above may transfer).
• BS degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; minimum 5 years experience; or
• MS degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; minimum 3 years experience.
• Experience making technical presentations.

Responsabilités

• Identify, research, test, and evaluate repair technologies (metallic and non-metallic).
• Leverage welding, machining, and other processes to support repair tech development.
• Plan, follow up, and execute technical work efforts.
• Develop instructions and procedures for engineering and repair activities.
• Track procurement actions and budget for projects.
• Prepare technical submittals and recommendations.
• Support project planning, testing, and deployment at vendors/shipyards.
• Coordinate with NN LNL, shipyards, and Naval Reactors Headquarters.
