Job summary

Fehrer Automotive North America LLC in Duncan, SC seeks a Team Lead, Welding Cell Assembly for 3rd shift. You will supervise welding operations, ensure on-time production, and coordinate with the Production Supervisor Heather Mayfield.

This is a new role that may require travel to ALBA in Georgia for training. The position includes leading quality checks, maintaining 5S, tracking downtime, and escalating issues per defined procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to read instructions, analyze data, and troubleshoot.

Responsibilities

• Start and stop shifts on computers.
• Audit cells referencing production schedules.
• Communicate quality issues to assemblers, and/or process, and supervisor.
• Communicate and conduct base quality investigations for any quality issues or concerns that may arise.
• Identify and coordinate the repair and/or removal of damaged or non-functional tools.
• Accurately track and record downtime, rework and scrap.
• Identify nonconforming frames in alignment with established boundary samples.
• Identify nonconforming subcomponents and follow scrap procedures.
• Place multiple single parts inside a welding table which is followed by robotic welding.
• Complete visual check on every frame to ensure the robot is producing quality welds.
• Maintain a clean work area according to 5S.
• Perform light maintenance, including cleaning welding tables and changing welding tips.
• Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the welding cell function. This would include: IATF, ISO, and TISAX (information security).
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers.
