Comfort Systems USA Mid South is seeking a Welder Apprentice II in Birmingham, AL to assist in the fabrication and welding of piping systems and structural components under supervision. You will develop foundational welding skills while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role involves basic welding tasks across SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW, material preparation, reading drawings, and collaborating with journeymen and supervisors to ensure accurate installations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of welding or related trade experience.
• Basic understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Willingness to learn and develop welding skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), or GMAW processes.
• Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
• Read and interpret basic drawings and welding symbols.
• Support fabrication and installation of piping systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with journeymen, apprentices, and supervisors.
