Job summary

Comfort Systems USA Mid South is seeking a Welder Apprentice II to assist in fabrication and welding of piping systems and structural components, under the guidance of experienced welders. Develop foundational welding skills with emphasis on safety and quality.

Under supervision, you will read drawings, prepare materials, and support installation while adhering to OSHA and company procedures, with opportunities for hands-on training and career growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of welding or related trade experience.
• Basic understanding of welding techniques and equipment.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Willingness to learn and develop welding skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing basic welding tasks using SMAW, GTAW (TIG), or GMAW processes.
• Prepare materials for welding including cutting, grinding, and fitting components.
• Read and interpret basic drawings and welding symbols.
• Support fabrication and installation of piping systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with journeymen, apprentices, and supervisors.

Position Summary
