Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a Weld Engineer in Illinois to develop and sustain welding and additive manufacturing processes, including Direct Energy Deposition. You will own the welding program, support shop floor activities, and work toward certification with AWS and ASME standards.

Collaborating with quality, NDE, materials lab, and cross-functional teams, you will drive process improvements, qualification samples, and customer-facing procedures, applying a rigorous, science-based problem-solving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science preferred.
• 1-3 years' experience as a weld engineer or in applicable additive manufacturing research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the welding program (AWS, ASME and others).
• Provide on-floor support to welders and engineering team in welding/additive processes.
• Collaborate with NDE to develop weld inspection program.
• Develop and implement manufacturing procedures including welding and additive manufacturing.
• Review process and welder qualification samples with materials lab.
