Job summary

Zaddy Solutions in Illinois is seeking a Weld Engineer to develop and sustain welding and additive manufacturing processes, including Direct Energy Deposition. The role blends hands-on shop support with problem solving and accountability for certification readiness and technology advancement.

You will own welding programs (AWS, ASME), assist welders, collaborate with NDE, write procedures, review welder qualifications, and work with the materials lab and cross-functional teams to drive quality

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Weld Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science (emphasis on weld processes)
1-3 years' experience as a weld engineer or applicable additive manufacturing research
Experience building and maintaining a certified weld program
Strong understanding of physical metallurgy as it relates to welding and heat treatment
Excellent listening and communication skills

Responsibilities

Develop and own the welding program (AWS, ASME, and others). Collaborate with quality for certification improvements.
Provide on-floor support to welders and the engineering team in welding and additive processes.
Work with NDE team to develop and sustain a weld inspection program.
Write and ensure execution of manufacturing procedures including welding and additive manufacturing.
Develop customer-facing work procedures for new and repaired products.
Coordinate with materials lab to review weld samples and adjust practices for quality.
