Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC. is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate parts per specifications and company standards. You will analyze blueprints and work orders, set up MIG/TIG equipment, and ensure accurate layouts and welds across varying materials.

In this role, you will read welding symbols, operate tools, and input data into the ERP system while maintaining safety and quality. Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED completed; welding experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints, welding specs, and symbols.
• Proficient with MIG and TIG welding processes.
• Able to read tape measures and basic measuring tools.
• Experience with ERP data entry and shop software.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate parts per specifications.

Job description

Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, overtime as needed

Position Summary:

To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment
• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations
• Set up, troubleshoot, and adjust equipment
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global

Requirements:

• Maintain excellent attendance and possess the flexibility to work overtime
• HS education with a minimum of 2 years welding experience
• Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and tooling
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols
• Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments
• Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality
• Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, square, and use a variety of power tools
• Work independently and follow direction
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills

A welding test will be administered as part of the application process
