Job summary

FORMA-FAB METALS, INC is seeking a Welder to fabricate parts per specifications, reading blueprints and welding with MIG/TIG techniques. The role requires reading blueprints, setting up equipment, and ensuring quality welds in various positions.

Candidates should have a HS diploma and at least 2 years of welding experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work overtime as needed. This is an on-site position with standard shifts and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• HS education with a minimum of 2 years of welding experience.
• Solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols.
• Ability to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes.
• Ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality.
• Ability to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level, and square.
• Ability and willingness to follow directions and work independently.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Set up and adjust equipment.
• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.
• Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately.
• Perform work with the help of various hand and power tools.
• Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global.
• Maintain weld equipment and supplies.
• Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area.
• Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
