As a Welder/Weld Production Trainee, you’ll perform welding processes on galvanized and raw steel according to print specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities include:
Perform minor to advanced welding on galvanized and raw steel.
Read and follow blueprints and print specifications.
Set and adjust welding machines for specific jobs.
Select the proper voltage, current, heat, gas and feed settings.
Set up machines and jigs for welding operations.
Operate flame-cutting equipment as needed.
Complete first-piece inspections using appropriate quality control tools.
Use tape measures and other measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
Move materials using forklifts, overhead cranes or other material-handling equipment.
Properly use all required safety equipment.
Follow established quality, production and safety procedures.
Qualified candidates must have:
At least 1 year of production welding experience
Knowledge of welding processes and techniques
Ability to set and adjust a welding machine
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to accurately read a tape measure
Strong attention to quality and detail
Ability to follow safety procedures and production specifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Availability for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed
