Job summary

ManpowerGroup is hiring an Experienced Welder in Valley, NE to join a Fortune 1000 company that values hard work and safety. You will fuse or weld metal components for steel structures and read blueprints to plan your work.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on welding experience in a professional environment.
• Ability to pass welding hand-on test and written assessment.
• Ability to pass and maintain weld certification to meet AWS, CWB and customer certifications in GMAW welding.
• Knowledge of how to read a measuring tape.
• Ability to read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets to weld scheduled work.

Responsibilities

• Fuse or weld metal structural components by arc welding for steel poles, substations and structures.
• Operate welding operations with some planning from blueprints or specifications and determine sequence.
• Maintain and operate production tooling and welding equipment safely.
• May be called to operate other machines in the shop.

  • 2nd shift, Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.
  • 3rd shift, Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
  • 3rd shift Tuesday - Friday, 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
  • Weekend Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

What will you be doing?

• Fuse or weld metal structural components together by means of arc welding in the fabrication of steel electrical poles, substations, and other structures
• Perform welding operations requiring a limited amount of planning of work from blueprints or other written specifications and determining operation sequence
• Maintain and operate production tooling and fixtures as well all welding equipment in a safe and secure manner
• May be called upon to operate other machines in the shop

What do you bring?

• Two years of previous hands‑on welding experience in a professional environment
• The ability to pass welding hand-on test and written assessment
• The ability to pass and maintain weld certification to meet AWS, CWB and several other customer certifications in GMAW welding
• Knowledge of how to accurately read a measuring tape
• The ability to read and decipher blueprints and flat sheets without assistance and use them to properly weld scheduled work
