Job summary

SPX Technologies is hiring a Welder for our Electric Heat business. You will assemble and weld sheet metal for electrical and industrial equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications.

You will lay out parts, select welding methods, and verify fit. Candidates should have minimal experience, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with tig/mig/spot welding techniques.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of tig welding, mig welding, and spot welding equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
• Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using tig welding, mig welding, or spot welding equipment.
• Removes rough spots from workpiece, using grinder, sander, or saw.
• May be trained and tested to be ASME certified.
