Job summary

BAE Systems in Anniston, Alabama is seeking a Welder II to perform skilled welding across aluminum, steel and stainless components. The role requires reading drawings, performing fit-up, and delivering weldments to the highest quality standards under a CBA-guided environment.

You'll operate manual and semi-automatic welders, apply GMAW techniques, and rework defective welds. This full-time, on-site position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to project specifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of technical experience.
• Must pass overhead (4G) GMAW welding certification test in aluminum or steel.
• Proficient with band saw for fabricating simple parts.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings with weld symbols.
• Ability to identify out-of-spec conditions and welding defects.
• Team-oriented with a safety-conscious work ethic.
• Must wear respiratory protection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding layout, fit-up, tacking, and welding operations to produce weldments.
• Work with engineering drawings, instructions, and project specifications.
• Skilled use of manual and semi-automatic welding, plasma cutting equipment.
• Handle oxy-fuel equipment and plasma torch for cutting purposes.
• Operate pneumatic tools for welding-related fit-up activities.
• Use band saws for fabrication of simple parts in welding department.
• Inspect completed work using precision measuring instruments to ensure specifications.
