The Welder I is responsible for welding metal components to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, utilizing various welding equipment.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Welds metal parts on subassembly and production lines using GMAW gas, metal arc welding, and submerged arc processes; also performs cutting and grinding tasks.
2. Interprets drawings to ensure correct weld sequencing and sizing.
3. Inspects own work and the work of others, reporting defects or discrepancies immediately to supervision.
4. Positions and clamps components of fabricated metal products prior to welding.
5. Operates overhead cranes, jib cranes, or forklifts safely to move and set large parts.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. At least one (1) year of welding experience; certification preferred.
3. Ability to use various hand and power tools.
4. Physical ability to stand, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40 pounds.
5. Forklift certification preferred.
6. Positive and cooperative attitude towards customers, colleagues, and the company.
7. Availability to work overtime as needed.
8. Compliance with environmental, safety, and quality standards.

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $NA. The actual offer will depend on experience and location.
