Roberts Sinto is currently seeking a Welder Fabricator to join our Team in Grand Ledge, MI

What You Will Do

Welder Fabricators must be able to read blueprints and make to print. This position is also responsible for planning, determining/selecting appropriate welding procedure and techniques.

General

1. Accurately selects type of welding equipment and consumable rod required to conform with the metal characteristics of the components to be welded.
2. Accurately determines material setups, welding positions and the specifications involved.
3. Correctly and routinely sets up welding equipment required; clamps materials to be welded to dimensional requirements.
4. Typically determines most appropriate gas (with proper regulation) and orifice to obtain proper welds and maximum strength.
5. Determines various techniques and procedures appropriate to the types of welding to be performed.

This position is also responsible for performing welding ranging from standard to specialized and involved, using arc or gas methods (or combinations) to weld diversified work.

1. Uses correct techniques to minimize distortion and warpage and provide welds of required strength and required appearance.
2. Typically makes use of proper measurement devices necessary to maintain required accuracy.
3. Works with an understanding of Department and Plant requirements.
4. Routinely practices safety necessary for himself and all other employees.
5. Cleans products before welding; cleans products after welding, prior to delivery to next work center/Department.

What We Want From You

Required

1. Minimum of High School diploma and/or equivalent.
2. Can accurately read a tape measure.
3. Experience with hand tools and precision machining tools.
4. Blueprint reading skills.
5. Industrial production welding/fabrication experience required, 5-7 years preferred.
6. Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
7. Ability to analyze and resolve basic problems. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Preferred

1. Experience with operating shear brakes, roll formers, cold saws, radial arm drills.
2. Layout experience.
3. Technical/industrial drafting skills.
4. Forklift Certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or equipment, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, extremes of heat and cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
