Job Description

We are seeking Welders/Fabricators/Fitters to join our expanding team in Wayland, Michigan where we build world-class agricultural feed trailers. We have a clean, beautiful, NEW 36,000 square feet facility and are looking for experienced welders to join our family.

This position is a good fit for individuals who are well acquainted with mig welding from entry level to advanced.

This is NOT an assembly line manufacturing facility. What we do is very customized and would not adapt well to an assembly line. We have over an 80% retention rate of our employees which says a lot about the company and culture we have at Walinga USA.

Potential Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read trailer specification sheet to understand customer requirements
• Measure auger pipes for correct length
• Use jigs and fixtures to straighten auger assembly after the welding process
• Prepare the galvanized discharge tubes for assembly, and install the augers in the tubes
• Cut aluminum extrusions to required length
• Use jigs and fixtures to assemble aluminum components and tack in place
• Perform structurally sound and cosmetically appealing welds in a variety of positions
• Install steel sub-assembly components on aluminum tank structure
• Use crane system to lift hopper tank and install on bogie running gear
• Work area to be kept clean and organized
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures

Additional Requirements and Considerations:

• Have own tools including welding helmet (we do offer a tool lease program)
• Ability to occasionally lift over 50 pounds
• Ability to climb in, on, or around trailer structures to perform welds in a variety of positions
• Must be able to meet physical demands of job with or without accommodation
• Ability to stand, bend and twist throughout shift
• Opportunity for 10 hour shifts as well as overtime
