Aerotek is seeking a Welder Fitter in El Cajon, CA, to perform TIG and MIG welding per blueprints, support fit-up and fabrication, and produce high-quality welded components in a hands-on shop environment. On-site, four days per week, with first/second/weekend shifts available.
Applicants should be proficient with welding exotic materials, read complex drawings, and maintain safety and traceability documentation. This position is contract to hire and pays $25–$30/hr.
The Welder Fitter performs TIG and MIG welding on a variety of assemblies, supports a journeyman welder with fit-up and fabrication, and works from blueprints to produce high-quality welded components. This role operates in a hands-on fabrication environment, using fixtures and hand tools to weld and assemble parts made from exotic materials and various thicknesses. The position is based on-site in El Cajon, CA, four days per week.
First shift schedule 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Mon-Thurs)
Second shift schedule 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM (Mon-Thurs)
Weekend schedule 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM (Fri-Sun)
Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on assemblies according to drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Assist with fit-up, fabrication, and assembly of components to required tolerances.
Set up and operate welding equipment and use fixtures, jigs, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
Weld stainless steel, Inconel, and other alloys while maintaining high quality standards.
Complete required production and traceability documentation.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Support other fabrication and production activities as needed.
Experience with TIG and MIG welding.
Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
Experience with fit-up, fixtures, and common fabrication tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
Must provide own welding hood and gloves; all other PPE is provided.
Experience working in a custom fabrication or manufacturing environment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA 92020.
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
