Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards in Pascagoula, MS is seeking an experienced marine structural welder. The role requires at least three years as a journeyman welder and the ability to read blueprints and work orders to assemble structural metal components.

You will weld butt and bulb joints in all positions, pass UT/MT testing, and participate in tank testing as needed. Prior vocational training or experience as a welder is acceptable; Bollinger is an equal opportunity employer.

REQUIRED:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.


• Must be able to weld butts and bulbs in all positions and pass Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods.


• Tank testing and associated duties as required.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

The ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions based on certifications being sought.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
