Job summary

Fairlead Integrated, LLC. is seeking skilled welders to join a team responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components.

You'll work with manual and mechanized welding processes, perform cutting and gouging, and ensure welds meet NAVSEA specifications in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years welding experience, ability to read weld symbols, and willingness to obtain access to military installations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years related welding experience.
  • NAVSEA qualification and applicable NAVSEA documents required.
  • Knowledge of welding principles, processes and MIL-22D or AWS D1.1 codes.
  • Ability to interpret weld symbols and joint configuration.
  • Must obtain/maintain access to military/government installations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment in 2G/3G/4G positions across multiple processes.
  • Interpreting NAVSEA approved WPS and welding procedures.
  • Use gauges for in-line quality checks as welds are completed.
  • Set up power supplies and identify supporting gear with minimal supervision.
  • Perform oxy/fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and CAC-A gouging and beveling.
  • Weld parts to required configurations; inspect for defects and conformity.

Job Description

Summary:

Use manual, semi-automatic, flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Perform (with training) Mechanized welding, cutting, and gouging processes as required by the work activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate safetyequipment anduse safe work habits

Weld components in2G,3G,and 4Gpositionsin a minimum of4processes. Interpreta NAVSEA approved WPS (weld procedure specification)

Usefillet weld gauges, V-WAC gauge, bridge cam gauge for first in line quality checks as welds are completed,according to the correct NAVSEA fabrication document

Setup or programpower supplieswith the ability toidentifycorrect support gear needed with minimal supervision in multiple processes

Proficientinoxy/fuel cutting, plasma cutting and CAC-A (carbon arc air) cutting,gouging,and scarfing of welds andbeveling plates

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend,grindand/or boltcomponentparts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding

Detectand troubleshootfaulty operation of equipment and/or defectivematerials andnotify supervisors

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment tojoin weldments, using processes such asGTAW,GMAW,FCAW,GMAW-P,GMAW-S,SMAW,SAW, Mechanized processes,and ability to setup stud welding gunconsistently using any combination of at least 4 processes

Monitor the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material

Examine work pieces for defects, and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance withNAVSEAspecifications

Recognize, set up, andoperatehand and power tools common to the welding trade, such asangle grinders, die grinders and needle scalers

Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers

Work consistently with supervisors and complete daily assignments with some to little supervision

Work outside of trade asrequiredto complete daily tasks

Required Qualifications:

Work Experience: Minimum 3 years relatedweldingexperience

Candidate must have prior experience and qualificationin accordance withapplicableNAVSEAdocuments

Knowledge of a wide range of welding principles, processes,andtechniques requiringcorrect weld joint identificationin accordance withMIL-22Dor AWS D1.1, and the ability toidentifyand correct weld defects prior to an NDT inspector showing up on site providing acceptablefirst-timequality

Ability to interpret weld symbols andidentifynecessary weld sizes and joint configuration

Ability tomaintaindimensions and tolerances to specifications

Ability to weld dissimilar metals

Ability to weld parts and structures that vary in size,shape,and thickness

Must be able to obtain andmaintainaccess to assigned military/government installationsasrequiredfor workactivity

Preferred Qualifications:weldcertificationsin multiple processes asrequiredper division needs

Certification and experience as a forklift and man-lift operator
