Job summary

General Function

Welds together structural metal components as specified by blueprints, work orders, or oral instructions.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilizes knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and non-metallic materials including the specifications of the particular equipment to be used in the process.
• Must be able to weld butts and bulbs in all positions and pass Ultrasonic (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) test methods.
• Tank testing and associated duties as required.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The ability to pass a welding test in the overhead and vertical positions based on certifications being sought.

Desirable Experience & Training

Prior experience as a welder or vocational training is acceptable.
