Job summary

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Welder for the 3rd shift. The role offers a base wage of $24/hour with a $1/hour shift premium and an additional $1 shift differential. Hours are 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Ongoing benefits and opportunities for cross-training are provided.

The Welder will perform MIG and TIG welding, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet quality standards. This position requires safety and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year MIG and TIG welding experience or a welding certificate/diploma.
  • No relocation benefit; candidates must reside within 50 miles of the location; certain military exceptions.
  • Eaton does not sponsor visa or work authorization for this position.

What you’ll do:

Eaton's ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Welder (3rd Shift). The hourly rate for this position is $24/hr + $1/hr shift differential per hour. Hours of work: 10:00PM - 6:30AM

In this function you will:
  • MIG(Metal Inert Gas) and TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas) welding
  • Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material, written and/or oral instructions.
  • Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas
  • Provide assistance to other sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required
  • Be responsible to deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on work surface. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion
  • Operate spot welders and interface with robotic welding
  • Complete necessary preparation steps such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components
  • Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation/record keeping may be required
  • Operate spot welders, arc welders, cutting torch, power grinder, power sanders, hand-tools, bandsaws, drills, temporary fixturing devices, jigs and fixtures, and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed.
  • Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems
  • Be responsible for maintenance of equipment such as welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary.
  • Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems
  • Perform other duties as required including flexing to other departments.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of one (1) year of MIG and TIG welding experience or a technical diploma or certification in welding from an accredited institution
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience demonstrating proficiency of welding techniques, shop blueprint/drawing comprehension, and shop math skills
  • Minimum of two (2) years of welding experience

  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics, blueprints, and drawings
  • Able to move material as needed using material handling carts (push/pull 50lbs)
  • Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
  • Team player and able to collaborate with others to effectively complete work assignments per customer orders
  • Willingness to participate in training opportunities
