Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Production Welder on the 2nd shift in Wisconsin. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and a base hourly rate of $24.45 plus $2.50 shift premium, with overtime possible. Typical shift hours are 3:00 pm–11:00 pm, and salaries reflect candidate skills and market conditions.

You will operate a MIG welder and grinder, assemble components, follow prints, ensure fit and finish per quality specs, and participate in setup and material handling as required.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED is required.
  • At least one of: 1 year manufacturing experience in an Eaton facility; welding certification or current enrollment in a welding program with expected completion by 2026; or previous welding experience in manufacturing or related field.
  • Eaton will not sponsor immigration or related plans for this position.
  • Relocation is not offered; only candidates within 50 miles of the work location will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a MIG welding machine and air grinder to assemble and weld tank covers, guards, doors, and cubicle components per prints.
  • Check parts against prints to ensure proper dimensions and locations.
  • Ensure proper fit and appearance of finished parts according to quality specifications.
  • Set up material in positioner, jig, or fixtures; make simple layouts when required.
  • Weld or stud weld various types of hardware to the part being built.
  • Tack weld and adjust wire feed for proper weld size; grind excess weld and trim edges.
  • Operate crane, stacker, and other equipment to move and position heavy parts.

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Production Welder - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate for this position is $24.45 + $2.50 shift premium. The hours for this shift are 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

This position is offering a sign-on bonus of $2,000* paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.

What You’ll Do

The Production Welder operates a mig welding machine and air grinder, assembling and welding tank covers, nut guards, doors, risers/sills, production orders, switch module cubicle components, and single/three phase cubicle components. The operator checks parts against prints to ensure proper dimensions and locations. The welder is responsible for proper fit and appearance of finished parts, according to quality specifications.

In This Function, You Will
  • Determine if material is to specs, check prints for E.C.O.'s N.C.R.'s, etc., and for latest revisions.
  • Set-up material in positioner, jig, or fixtures. Make simple layouts when required.
  • Weld or stud weld various types of hardware to the part being built.
  • Tack weld part, adjusting wire feed for proper size weld seam.
  • Grind excess weld and trim edges for fit of parts and appearance.
  • Operate crane, electric stacker, and other mechanical assists to move, position, and unload heavy parts and assemblies.
  • Operate oxyacetylene cutting/carbon arc torch and replace mig torch body, lever switch, and hoses from wire feed to torch body.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • High school graduate or GED is required from an accredited institution.
  • One of the below is required:
    • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience in an Eaton facility
    • Welding certification OR current enrollment in a Welding Program with an anticipated completion date in 2026 from an accredited institution
    • Previous welding experience in manufacturing or a related field.

Skills
  • Ability to successfully complete Eaton’s Power Systems weld test with a score greater or equal to 80%
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
